Snow Gear

Ski & Snowboarding Gear

Smith Optics ski and snowboard gear is designed for your days on the mountain. Snow helmets include Mips®, a low-friction layer that lets your head move slightly during certain impacts, helping reduce rotational force in a crash. Snow goggles feature ChromaPop™ lenses, which sharpen contrast and color so you can spot moguls and ice patches before you're on top of them.

Conditions change from one day to the next, and so does what you need in your kit. Replacement lenses make it easy to match the tint to whatever you're riding into, and helmet bags and goggle cases help keep everything protected between runs and on the way to the mountain. Whether it's a whiteout or a bluebird day, this ski gear and snowboarding gear is built to keep pace.

FAQs

How do I protect my ski and snowboarding gear while traveling?

Pack helmets and goggles in padded, dedicated bags rather than tossing them in with the rest of your luggage, since lenses can scratch and shells can get crushed under other gear. A Smith Optics helmet bag keeps your helmet protected in transit, and a goggle case or goggle bag keeps lenses covered and scratch-free when they're not on your face. A little extra padding goes a long way toward making sure your gear arrives ready to ride.

What is Mips® and how does it work?

Mips® is a low-friction layer built into the helmet that lets your head move slightly during certain impacts. That small amount of movement helps reduce rotational force that would otherwise be transferred to your head in a crash.

What are ChromaPop™ lenses?

ChromaPop™ helps you spot ice patches and changing snow texture before you're on top of them by making colors look sharper and truer to life than standard lenses. Instead of colors blending together as they do in a regular lens, everything on the mountain stands out more clearly.
